Policy ยท v2.3

Privacy, handled with
tender care.

Your data is yours. We collect only what we need to make your menus beautiful, keep your shop signed in, and help us improve. Nothing more, nothing sneaky.

๐ŸŒธ1. Overview

Menu Mommy, Inc. ("Menu Mommy," "we," "us") makes digital menu display software for cute little shops around the world. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

๐Ÿ’•

In plain pastels: we only collect what we need to run Menu Mommy for you. We don't sell your data. We don't train AI models on your menus. And we delete your data on request.

๐Ÿง2. Information we collect

We try to keep this list short. Here's everything that touches our servers:

Account info
Your name, email, shop name, and a hashed password (or OAuth token if you sign in with Google or Apple).
Menu content
The products, prices, photos, and themes you upload to build your menus.
Billing
Plan, last four card digits, and country. Payments are processed by Stripe โ€” we never see your full card.
Usage
Which features you use, how often displays sync, and error logs to keep things running smoothly.
Device & display
Browser type, screen size, device ID of paired displays, and a rough location (city-level) for sync optimization.
QR scan analytics
Anonymous scan counts and timestamps. We never collect info about the customers who scan your QR codes.

โ˜๏ธ3. How we use information

We use your data to:

  • Run the service โ€” show your menus, sync to displays, keep you signed in.
  • Bill you accurately (thank you, by the way).
  • Send service emails โ€” new features, security alerts, and a very occasional newsletter you can unsubscribe from any time.
  • Improve the product โ€” aggregate metrics help us find rough edges.
  • Keep Menu Mommy safe โ€” prevent abuse, fraud, and spooky bots.

We do not sell your personal data, rent your contact info, or use your menus to train machine learning models. Ever.

๐Ÿค4. When we share

We share only with a small, trusted circle of service providers, and only what's necessary for them to do their job:

  • Stripe โ€” payment processing
  • Amazon Web Services โ€” hosting & storage
  • Postmark โ€” transactional email
  • Plausible โ€” privacy-friendly website analytics (no cookies, no personal data)

We may also share information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of Menu Mommy and our users, or if the company is involved in a merger or acquisition (in which case we'll tell you).

๐Ÿช5. Cookies & similar tech

We use a tiny number of cookies and local-storage keys:

  • A session cookie to keep you signed in.
  • A preferences key for your UI choices (theme, language, etc.).
  • A CSRF token for form security.

We don't use third-party ad cookies. We don't follow you around the web. Our analytics provider is cookie-free.

๐ŸŒท6. Your rights

No matter where you live, you can:

  • Access โ€” download everything we have on you.
  • Correct โ€” update anything that's inaccurate.
  • Delete โ€” ask us to erase your account and all menu data.
  • Export โ€” grab your menus in JSON or CSV any time.
  • Object โ€” tell us to stop using your info for specific purposes.

If you're in the EU / UK (GDPR) or California (CCPA/CPRA), you have additional statutory rights โ€” including non-discrimination for exercising them. Email us to make any request; we respond within 30 days.

๐Ÿ”’7. Security

Your data is:

  • Encrypted in transit with TLS 1.3.
  • Encrypted at rest with AES-256.
  • Backed up daily to multiple regions.
  • Accessed only by employees who need it to support you โ€” logged, audited, and on a need-to-know basis.

No system is perfectly safe, but we take it seriously and we'll tell you within 72 hours if anything ever goes wrong.

๐Ÿงธ8. Children's privacy

Menu Mommy is for business owners. The service isn't directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has signed up, please contact us and we'll take it down.

โœจ9. Changes to this policy

If we make a meaningful change, we'll email everyone with an active account at least 14 days before it takes effect. Small typo fixes or clarifications may happen at any time; we'll always show you the current version here with a fresh "last updated" date.

๐Ÿ’Œ10. Contact us

Questions, requests, or just a nice note? We read every message.
